Overview

A beautiful state located at the western side of Myanmar with Hakha as its capital, the Chin State/Chin Hills stands tall at 3,053 metres, attracting mountaineers and hikers to visit Chin. The state is bordered by the Rakhine State, Bangladesh, Sagaing Region, Magway Division, and India. It is best for tourists to travel to Chin from Bagan all the way to Mindat, the entrance gateway to Chin. Mindat can be reached via a boat ride along the Ayeryarwaddy River, passing Kanma, Pauk, and Kyaukhtu. Tourists can then enjoy a drive up to Mount Victoria, the highest peak of Chin Hills. The roads are cut along mountainsides and alleys, providing tourists with a picturesque view of the state’s scenery.

The Best Time to visit Chin State is from

November and March

The rainy season in Chin State lasts longer than elsewhere in Myanmar. In the rainy season (running from May to October), landslides block muddy roads, the mountains are obscured by cloud and mist.The summers are short, warm, and partly cloudy and the winters are short, cool, dry, and mostly clear.The best time to visit Chin is between November and March. For general outdoor tourist activities or warm-weather activities, the best time of year to visit is from late March to mid May, and for hot-weather activities is from early April to late May.

Nat Ma Taung National Park

Natma Taung National Park is located in Chin State in western Myanmar.The park covers 72,300 hectares of the Chin Hills and contains Mt. Natma Taung , which rises 2,200 m above the surroundings landscape to a height 3,051 m (Platt et al. 2012). NTNP ranges in elevation from 740 m to 3,051 m .

Kennedy Peak

Kennedy Peak is a 2,703-metre (8,868 ft) peak in the Tedim Township of the Chin State of Burma (Myanmar) that dominates the Tedim Road. It is one of the world's ultra-prominent peaks, as it rises 4,951 feet (more than 1500 m) above all other peaks nearby.It is the second highest mountain in Chin State, next to Mount Victoria. It was the site of a battle during World War II.....

Taung Za Lat Flower

Taung Za Lat flower is also known as Rhododendron or hand-knotted.The rhododendron can grow up to 40 feet tall and 3-4 feet in diameter. The fields in Upper and Lower Myanmar. They grow in low mountain forests. The flesh is white and quite hard. Each cubic foot of meat weighs about 40 pounds. The meat is used as household furniture, They are used to make boxes and wheels.

Rih Lake

Situated at Re DawKhar city, near Myanmar-India border and 46 miles away from Pha Lan city of Chin State, Rih Lake is a heart-shaped lake surrounded by mountains with height of 2966 feet of sea level, the length of one mile and half a mile in width.Rih Lake situated in 545 acres of protected public forest and is home to a wide range of colorful and attractive birds.

Mount Victoria

With a height of 3,053 metres (10,016 ft) above sea level and a prominence of 2,231 metres (7,320 ft), Mount Victoria or Nat Ma Taung is one of the ultra prominent peaks of Southeast Asia. Nat Ma Taung is in the Chin Hills-Arakan Yoma montane forests ecoregion.The peak is unique for the presence of trees, bushes and grass, which have adapted to the environment.

Chin People

The Chin are one of the founding groups of the Union of Burma,These people predominantly live in the Chin State, Bago,Ayeyarwady,Magwe Division,Rakhine State and Sagaing Region of Myanmar, but are also spread throughout Burma, Bangladesh and India.

Festivals

New Year Festival (Kup Ti Festival)

Khuado is the most popular occasion on the Zomi (the so called Chin) calendar. It is the biggest festival of the year celebrated by the Zomi. It takes place at the time when the weather is superb, with the downpour of monsoon rain already gone entering into early autumn before the arrival of the bitterly cold winter. It falls during the Zo-months of Phal kha and Kau kha, i.e. September and October.

Chin National Day

February-20

Chin National Day is celebrated annually on February 20th both in different townships of Chin State and all over the world where Chin people reside. It is an auspicious day to promote and show the unity and solidarity of the Chin people. It is a tradition to celebrate Khuang Cawi and Chin wrestling on this day. Other events such as traditional exhibitions, local development exhibitions and traditional food display can be seen on this special day.

"Nice environment with surrounded by Nature!
